File Sharing NOT appearing in Apps
I need to transfer some PDFs to my iPad and the "File Sharing" area below Sync Apps in Itunes is not there. Am I supposed to do something to make it show?

Try install the free Adobe Reader. It'll appear in the File Sharing box and you can start importing PDF files.
Thank you for your reply... What I am saying though is that the "File Sharing" option/section is not appearing within the Apps area as it should:

I never used an Ipad before today and I did update the iOS version to 5.0.1.
Try reset your iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.

This is what Diavonex is trying to point out to you. This blurb was copied from that support article that you referenced in your post.
Note:
If you do not see the File Sharing section shown in the image below, your iOS device does not have any apps that support File Sharing.
If you don't have a file sharing app on the iPad, the file sharing window does not appear in iTunes. Do you have an app like Adobe Reader or GoodReader or Save2 PDF? If you don't - you will not see the file sharing window.
