Printing the last page first

My iMac is printing the last page first when printing to a HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus. I am running 10.7. I remember this issue coming up with my old iMac that was running 10.2 but don't remember the fix.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7), 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 Processor

This is likely an option in the print dialog - the specifics may vary by application, but in the print dialog there are numerous options for tweaking the printer settings. Look under the 'Paper Handling' popup menu - there should be a 'Page Order' selection or some such.

You may need to click the 'Show Details' button to see the expanded print options.

Also bear in mind why the default might be 'reversed' for this printer.

Since it ejects pages face-up, this means that if you print a multi-page document you can just walk over to the printer when the print job has finished and pick up all the pages, already stacked in the right ordder. If page 1 printed first then it would be at the bottom of the stack and you'd need to reorder them.

Of course, if you want to read the document while it's printing this doesn't help, which is why you have the option to switch the order.
