how to use my iMac as external screen.

I want to use my iMac screen as monitor for my laptop (PC). I have bought a mini to normal display cable so the two things should be connected. According to other help in Apple.com i should use the CMD-F2 function on my keyboard. But nothing happens...

Help me please.
