iPhoto will not recognize Canon 20D

I just bought a Canon 20D digital camera. When connecting my Powerbook to either a Powershot or Canon Digital Rebel camera via USB connection, iPhoto automatically opens and asks if you want to download photos. When connecting my Canon 20D the same way, nothing happens. I have to use the Canon EOS Viewer Utility the view the images. I can drag the images from Canon EOS Viewer Utility to the desktop and then to iPhoto. So there is a way. But I am wondering if there is a way to transfer from the Canon 20D directly to iPhoto like I have done with the Rebel and Powershot ? I am very comfortable with iPhoto and would like to continue to use it. Is that crazy thinking ? Should I get to know Canon EOS Viewer Utility better ? Thanks for your help.

Hi ndbob79,

I am writing from Japan. I encountered to the same problem. Have you ever tried to set the communication setting of EOS 20D to "PTP"rather than "Standard" (I guess it will be written like that since I am using Japanese menu setting so that I cannot tell.) However it is needed to use PTP in case of EOS 20D, I believe. Please try out!!
