Why does iTunes keep downloading same TV Shows?

I usually purchase a season pass for tv shows. After watching them, I usually delete the show. When a new episode is available, I use check for available downloads. iTunes will get the new version. But it also starts downloading all the episodes I've already watched and deleted.

Under Store Preferences >> Store, I don't have anything checked.

Is there a way to stop iTunes from constantly downloading previous episodes?
