Filemaker Pro 7 with Lion

I have just upgraded to Lion (from Snow Leopard) and to my horror discover that certain applications won't run with that operating system. Most importantly, this includes Filemaker Pro 7, my database. I urgently need access to that as I'm running a big charity event and need the 900+ contents in my database.

Ideally I would run in on Lion, but if I am persuaded to buy an expensive new version of Filemaker Pro or other database, will I be able to import the contents from my Filemaker Pro. I am not a geek, so would gratefully appreciate any responses in a way I am likely to understand. Thank you so much in anticipation. The Little Pip

Thank you so much. I was afraid that this would be the case. But if I do invest in the latest version of Filemaker Pro (11), will I definitely be able to transfer all the formats and data from my old version (7)? This is critical. If I can't, I might find an alternative solution...

So, I will also have to buy new Microsoft Office for Mac. I do think they ought to warn one before one upgrades.

It's a lot of money - for some of us.

But thank you for your prompt response.
