how do you edit artist names in your i tune library?

some of my artists in my i tunes library have been split up into various names even though they're the same artist. I realise that this is because when the artist features another artist in a track, the computer assumes that it is a diferent artist because the name seems different. however, even when i erase the featured artist so that each of these groups of songs have the same name, they still remain seperated.

e.g. i had 3 groups in the search bar for the artist "big boi" ; "Big Boi Feat. Khujo Goodie & Cee-Lo", "Big Boi Feat. Killer Mike" and "Big Boi Feat. Killer Mike & Jay-Z" even though it was all the same artist (big boi) and from the same album. so i changed them all to "big boi" assuming that the three groups would merge together under one artist but instead they have stayed seperate. this is very frustrating because my artist list is now very, very long and it takes ages to fing a song!

so my question is:how do i make these groups of songs merge under the name of the same artist? (because they are, after all, the same artist)
