where is my idvd

Need more infor. Where was it before? When did you notice it missing? What event occurred just before it went missing? Do you have a new Mac?

Apple stopped supporting, installing and selling iDVD (and iWeb) when it started selling Macs with Lion preinstalled. Therefore the only way you can now obtain iDVD is to purchase the iLife 11 disc that's still being offered by 3rd party retailers like Amazon.com: iLife 11.

I have a new macbook pro with mountain lion...and have installed IDVD (I installe the whole ilife package) with all updates...but it wont open...gets stuck on the themes. Can it be used ??

I am totally at a loss as I make dvds for work and had no idea that my new mac wouldnt allow me to do that!

First try this basic troubleshooting fix :

1 - delete the IDVD preference file, com.apple.iDVD.plist, that resides in your

User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.

2 - delete IDVD'S cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your

User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iDVD folder.

3 - launch IDVD and try again.

If that does'nt help run Disk Utility and repair disk permissions. If that still doesn't work reinstall iDVD again from the iLife 11 disk. Move the current iDVD application to the Trash before running the installer.
