Can I Reinstall Snow Leopard without deleting files or accounts

hi,

i installed lion on my macbook (mid 2010) and ever since its real sluggish and slow, i NEED to recover back to Snow Leopard, but there are accounts on there i dont want deleted, i have two partion on my computer : Macintosh HD and Data .. the accounts are saved on Data and the system on the mac hd, but i'm afraid if i install lion on the system drive, the accounts won't work, PLEASE I NEED HELP.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.2), Need to Downgrade to SL

Buy yourself a cheap USB harddrive for about $50-$80 and clone your current internal Hard disk. This is your insurance.

Then reinstall Snow Leopard on your internal drive. You should be able to use Migration assistant to move stuff over from your clone to your new install.

Some third-party NAS manufacturers claim to support Time Machine, but that use is unsupported by Apple and I wouldn't trust it. As your only backup? No way.
