Why won't my macbook air print in color?

Try the printer test page. If that prints correctly then the HP options are probably set to B/W.

In the print dialog, change to Paper Type/Quality and click the triangle next to Color Options.

Computer's don't print however I think the question is why won't your HP printer print in color. In order for us to help you out though we need some basic information such as what version of OS X is installed on the MBA, what printer you have, how it's connected to the computer (USB, wi-fi, etc...) and the steps you took to install it and troubleshoot your problem.
