Q: Trouble with setting up Airport Express

I recently got a new modem.  My airport express will not work.  I connected the AE directly to the modem with an ethernet cable.  The light conitnues to flash amber.  The device is not showing up in airport utility.  I have reset the AE and tried it again with the same results.  Please help.

Any time you change networking hardware, it is a good idea to perform a complete power recycle on all of your networking equipment.

    Please try the following:

    • Power-down the modem, AirPort Express Base Station (AX), and computer(s); Wait at least 10-15 minutes.
    • Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it enough time to initialize.
    • Power-up (plug into power) the AX; wait at least 5-10 minutes or until the status light is a solid green.
    • Powerup the computer(s)

Note: The AX may continue to flash amber. This could be telling you that further configuration steps are recommended.
