AppStore in Serbia

Hello,

I recently bought MacBook Air 13", and just figured I can't use AppStore without lying to the system.

So, I got a notification that some of my apps have updates pending, and wanted to update them. When I logged in with my Apple ID, I was then asked by the system to review my info. I's brought to the next screen, where I's asked to pick a country from the list.

However, there's no Serbia in country list. I called the official reseller that I bought my MacBook Air from, and they told me that most of their stuff use AppStore by saying they're from Croatia, and that it had worked for them pretty well in the past several years.

Now, I'm wondering: Am I allowed to use another country, as my hands are pretty much tied when using my new macbook air from Serbia not being able to use app store?

Also, why isn't there any way for me to ask Apple directly?

Am I allowed to use another country

Hi..

The issue is that your credit or debit card credentials linked to your Appl ID must be associated with the same country where you reside.

"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location. You can use the iTunes Store in all countries of which you’re a resident, but you’ll either need a separate iTunes Store account for each one, or you’ll need to continually be switching the billing information on your single account. Generally, it’s simpler just to set up an alternative account for these situations, although it’s worth nothing that features like iTunes in the CLoud and iTunes Match are designed to work best when using a single iTunes Store account, as you can only switch accounts with these services every 90 days."

Hi Carolyn,

I'd like to know if Apple is ever going to add Serbia to list of countries with full App Store access + a proper support? It's such a shame that Apple is selling its products legally in Serbia but doesn't allow us to fully access the App Store and purchase apps, in-app purchases, music, movies, TV shows, books etc. I'm not saying that iPhone is useless in Serbia without full App Store access, but it's ridiculous to buy 900 euro worth phone without an option to even create a legitimate Apple ID and have access to App/iTunes Store and full support.

Thanks in advance for your answer.
