It depends! If another technically skilled person in your house has physical access to your computer then in most cases they could indeed check your history.

Lets cut to the chase. If you want to preserve your browsing privacy, then you will first need to use your browser's features to clear current history, cookies, download history, HTML5's persistent storage, and flash objects, etc... Then, from now on, learn to use Safari's "Private Browsing", or Chrome's "Incognito" feature to assure that nearly all browsing history is removed when you close your browsing session.

As I only have one user account on any of "MY" computers, both Mac and PC, I'm not sure if another Admin user could access another Admins User folder from theirs on a Mac computer. On a PC they can but you can make you files private so no one else can get to them.

Since all the stored info for things like internet history is stored in each User account if another Admin was logged on they may be able to access the files in another Admin user account.

To prevent this there should only be One Admin account. And then that Admin assigns permissions to standard user accounts so they can install software and create and delete files in there own account but none of the other accounts on the computer.
