I wish to scan an old family photo using HP Photosmart C7280 all in one to an Imac Desk top that I have had for about 2 months.

plug the printer into the macs usb port. Put the photo in the scanner and choose the scan function and press the start button. That is how I do it on my printer, so the directions may be a little different.

what happens when you try and are your drivers up to date?
I am sorry but what do you mean by drivers, I am new to Mac technology, I could scan into my old computer a Dell using microsoft but I am in the dark here. Thank you
open system preferences, then select print and scan.
then select scan at the top.then press open scanner.
then select scanner on the top right.
then press scan at the bottom right.
Or you could launch Image Capture in your Applications folder. Hopefully it'll locate your scanner and be easy to follow from there.
