Here is an article from MacWorld that claims the iPad in their words amazingly supports the same RAW file format as OS X.

That's better than I've found but even that doesn't make sense. Granted, the OS/IOS support is important but so is the application itself. I have three SLRs, two Nikon D80s and one Nikon D5100. I have an iMac with Lion. The D80 NEF (Nikon RAW) files open in every photo application that I have. The D5100 NEF files will not open in Adobe Lightroom but they do open in Adobe Photoshop CS5 via Camera RAW. They also open in iPhoto and Nikon's Capture NX2.
