is apple gonna do something about our battery?

Hello,

Doens anyone knows if apple is planning on doing something real about the iphone 4s battery problem?
Its my first Iphone and I already regret from switching from the android.
All those features have no use if the battery can't stand more then a couple of ours.
I've already tried everything that was tolda here (or most of it, as I don't know if I saw it all)
I turned siri off

I turned locations off for time zone
I closed all background apps
I turned of notifications for e-mail, calendar and contacts
I even turned off the 3G
and none of these helped.

I mean, really, what shoul I do next?
I'm from Brazil, bought it from a cell phone operator
Unfortunately there is no Apple store here, so I really don't know what to do.
Should I try to replace it? I've seen not everybody have issues, so maybe replacing the phone should help?
Can someone give me a light please? I'm a brand new iphone user.
thank you!

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.0.1

I seriously doubt a lot of users have only two hours of battery life.

As I already provided, if you are getting only two hours of battery life regardless what you are doing, then your iPhone has a problem. The iPhone includes a one year warranty.

There is nothing whatsoever that Apple can do for an iPhone that gets only two hours of battery life with an iPhone under warranty except for exchanging the iPhone under warranty.

If not two hours, how many hours and when doing what exactly? What is your screen brightness when doing whatever? What is your cellular reception during that time and the same for your wi-fi reception if connected to a wi-fi network?

This is a user to user help forum only. No one here knows Apple's plans in regards to what will be included or not included with a future iOS update.

My 4s suddenly started losing battery power much faster than when I first purchased it. I went to a Genius Bar. They told me there is a location services app that keeps crashing in the background thus running the battery down. I took it home, did an iCloud back up, then reset and restored from my iCloud back up. It is just now back on and I'm hoping that fixed it. I'll let you know tomorrow!

Thank you!

My iphone is turned off and charging right now, after I turned it on I will monitor it to see the exact number of hours it lasts in normal usage (will turn notifications back on form normal usage: email, facebook, notes, messaging, calls and pics)
I'll let you both know tomorrow as well!

So, I did a restore on itunes as some had said it would help, and it actually did.
Altought I still think it should last longer.

here is what I got now:
Iphone 4S iOS 5.0.1 (9A406)

Bluetooth on
Notifications on for buit-in apps + gmail and facebook (each hour)

Localization services off for time-zone, siri, iAds, network search and all other system services

wi-fi off

lightness on auto and low.

siri on with raise to speak off

no iCloud account

no mail, contacts or calendar push

ping and itunes off (on restrictions)

and I got 5 hours of really light use (one phone call, two checks on gmail and facebook, couple of minutes playing and two potos taken)

15 hours on stand by

Is that how it's supposed to go?
I see people saying they get up to one day with moderate use.
I got these numbers barely using it, most of that time was during the night when I was sleeping.

If I open anny app the battery drains real fast.

When I was at the Genius Bar they said it would be better to restore from iCloud than from iTunes. I did that yesterday and I do believe my battery life is better. I used it a lot today so I want to wait and see how it does overnight.

One clue to the issue that you can check is to look at Usage From Last Full Charge, under Settings/General/Usage. It was showing 8 hours of usage and 12 hours of standby overnight, so it was obvious it was working away at something. I'll do a full charge before going to bed tonight and check in the morning and I'll know for sure tomorrow if my issue is fixed.

The Genius Bar was very helpful, so why not give it a try if you live close to one.

That is unfortunate that you are so isolated. Have you contacted support by email?

I am also still on Snow Leopard. I back up my phone on iCloud though as that is recommended over backing up via iTunes. And you can access your iCloud account on the web (www.icloud.com), you just can't sync from your computer to iCloud on Snow Leopard.
