No password provided for "icloud"

Whenever I check my mail I get the message on my iPhone that I have no password provided for "icloud" Please go to mail account settings and enter a password. I do this. The password is accepted in the settings area, then the message reappears. How do I make this go away?

iPhone 4, iOS 5.0.1

I had the same problem on my iPad. I fixed it be deleting the account from my iPad and then re-adding it back.
