iphone 4 reboots computer when connecting due to photos on iphone. why?

my iphone 4 has photos on it. when i connect it to my pc, it shuts down and reboots itslef and keeps rebooting itslef until I remove the iphone from the usb port. if i remove/delete the photos from the iphone and then connect it to the pc, then there are no problems at all. if i connect my iphone 4 whtih photos on my daughter's laptop, there are no issues at all. Can someone please help me as this problem also occurs with my wife's iphone4 as well. Thanks
