Q: Just redeemed a gift card and i want to buy an app but there is no option to use the credit i have??? what do i do???

As the question is ststed, i am new to macs but i really dont know exactly what to do. i followed what the card said to redeem it; thru itunes; and i just want to buy pages but my creit isnt being applied and i dont understand why it's being more complicated then it should. It would be so nice of anyone to help me because i all want is to get the pages app please

    Your credit will be added to your account and will go towards any purchases you make until the funds run out.

     

    To check your balance open itunes then go to the store's main page

     

    Your remaining balance will appear next to your apple ID/email at the top of that window

    thats the thing it doesnt. I clicked on the 19.99 option, (i had a $25 gift card), and it takes me to the billing information and doesnt take away from my credit so i clicked under the the credit card option and i couldnt do much because it only allowed me to redeem a card and since i had redeemed it i cannot do it again. So ultimately im left with a credit of $25 and cant buy nothing! theres nothing on the billing information that allows me to use my credits! and it doesnt take away from my credits at all...so confused!

    Have you ever added your banking details to your itunes account?

     

    I believe that is required before any purchases can been made by voucher or otherwise.

    Yes my blling information is on there because of my iphone, but the thing is i dont want to use my credit card becuse i have the credit it would been pointless for me to buy the card lol, i tired everything possible i dont understand why the credit cant be used unless if it can only be applied to the itunes store but my app store clearly shows the credit of $25

    If your app store shows $25 credit then it is in your account. Both the itunes store and app store use the same credit system

    this is why its confusing..how do i purchased the item without the credit card lol? like i tired everything and nothing -_- this is totally more difficult then what it should be lol

    Simply purchasing the app would take credit from your account rather than your bank.

    In your web  browser address bar type in appleid.apple.com

    Click on manage my account

    When you sign in using your apple id you should be able to see your credit.

    If not the answer usually lies in a login issue e.g. Wrong account, wrong password.

    If all else fails go to apple's support page then iTunes then account

    Thats the thing i really dont want to put the card info and then they take the money from the card, all that happens is i click the box to buy it i put my password and takes me to my billing info and dats it

    Again if the credit is in your account that is what will be taken.

     

    You might be being directed to your billing information to verify details

     

    Is the security number box empty and outlined in red? (3 digits from the back of your bank card)

    You can check your available balance in the account area just above Quick Links right side of the iTunes Store window.

    Click Sign In. Your account balance should be available now just under where it says: Welcome ...

     

    I clicked on the 19.99 option, (i had a $25 gift card)

     

    Also... if the total purchase price including any applicable fees or taxes exceeds your balance, the transaction will be canceled unless you have a credit or debit card on file with Apple to charge the difference to.

    If the total purchase price is more then the balance you need to redeem another gift card if you choose to not use a credit or debit card.

    It does give me the balance but it doesnt allow me to buy nothing i clicked it again right now and took me to edit billing information....like i said before i dont want to use my card so i dont understand why they send me here...i have $25 on balance and the app is $19.99 so i still would have enough funds...this is really aggrivating me now >:( i think im just going to just call apple and see what to do

    I'm having the same problem and I cant see a solution on this string!

     

    How do you redeem using your existing credit balance, every time I buy it keeps sending me to how I can pay by credit card etc which I dont want.

     

    My account details show £15 and I cant use it!!!
