I don't like the changes I did in the Docker 3rd party software, and I don't know how to undo them. So, I want to uninstall the program. I put it in the trash, but the trash won't empty, saying "Docker is in use" or thereabouts. But when I access the Force Quit menu, Docker is not listed as active.
What to do?
Also, does anyone know if, when I finally do uninstall Docker, will the changes it made to my Dock also disappear?

Appears you still have a service running. Did you open Activity Monitor and check to see if a service is running for it? Do you have an entry in your Users & Groups / Login Items? Did the app come with an uninstaller?
Click on your hard disk icon in the Finder sidebar (if you can't see it, first go to Finder > Preferences > Sidebar and check the HD icon under 'Devices').
From the HD icon, navigate to
Library / LaunchDaemons /
and look for something called something like 'com.blocksoft.docker'. If you find it, trash it.
If you didn't find anything, or it didn't solve the problem, go to your User Library (go to Finder | Go > (hold down the 'option' key) Library and look for anything related to Docker in
~/Library/ LaunchAgents
Restart your mac, everything should be back to normal. If not, come back here.
After a restart, the trash emptied. No change to the dock, however. So I restarted again, still no change to the dock.

I do not know how to check Users & Groups / Login Items
I don't think it came with an uninstaller but I will try and contact the developer
System Preferences / User & Groups / Login Items tab. See if anything is running for that app. I doubt it, but it's worth a look.
To check Login Items, go
> System Preferences... > Users & Groups
In the window that comes up, click the 'Login Items tab on the right. Look for something like Docker or Docker.helper
You might even try reinstalling that app, then undo your changes to get the OS X Dock appearance back then use the app's uninstaller or move it to Trash. Restart.
Ok, I have had this problem too and solved it. You have to reinstall the Docker app (http://www.blocksoft.net/docker.html) and once you have installed it, open it. Make the screen look exactly like this picture, then click apply. For some reason this works and not the "Restore Apple Defaults" button.
I can't uninstall Docker. Trash won't empty.
