How To Disable Music Controls and Camera Icon On Lock Screen?

Good Afternoon / Evening -

I have an iPhone 4 running iOS5.

I would like to disable the Music Controls and Camera icon that appear on the lock screen. Is there a way to do this? I believe this new functionality is causing battery issus with my iPhone 4.

Any advice / information is appreciated!

Thanks,

Rick

No, this feature is built into iOS 5 and can't be altered.

The only way this could cause a battery issue though is if you accidentally double-tap the Home button and then also tap either the Play button to start music or the Camera icon to launch the camera app. Not impossible, but not likely either. Battery issues might be improved through a reset or complete iPhone restore.

Thank you for the quick response.

Okay ... That is good to know.

My iPhone 4 has some strange battery behavior and I can't figure it out. I have done a reset and restore(s) and they don't seem to help.

It seems as though that sometimes my phone will just suddently shut down due to a drained battery. For example, this afternoon the battery was probably at 45 - 50%. It suddenly shut down due to the battery being drained. I can't figure out what is going on. Do you have any battery saving tricks or advice?

Thanks again for your quick response to me original question.

Thanks,

Rick

I have the same problem and I am not sure what causes it. Ever since the music controls have been added to the lock screen I have had a problem. Like many guys, I put my iPhone in my front pocket. I have found, almost daily, that after simply moving around (walking, sitting, standing), the music player will start playing whatever the active song was - basically somehow it unpauses. Arguably this would require that the home button be pressed twice and that the play button is also pressed - I get that. However, something is happening as it is more common than not. I don't even put anything else in that pocket anymore.

Frankly, it is very frustrating and after reviewing numerous posts in numerous blogs, this problem is not limted to me. When it does happen, I find that my iPhone battery runs into the ground - I would go so far as saying that this is a safety hazard. If I am stranded somewhere with no phone battery because Apple decide not to give me an option to turn off the "lock screen" music player function - I would go so far as argue that this is Apple's own negligence. A "lock screen" by definition should LOCK THE SCREEN. This is not a "lock screen " with exceptions.

My only other option to fix this issue is to empty the iPhone of the music library. At that point, I might as well get a competitve product that is not primarily a music player.

I Have an iPhone 5 & the music keeps getting activated when its in my pocket.. i actually have to take it out of my pocket if im moving aroung.. or in a meeting.. its SO Annoying.. my first iPhone.. and im blown away that even on the LOCK screen.. you cant lock the features on the phone.. does this sound like a third grader designed this thing or what.. why have a lock screen??? IF it Doesn't lock??????

I can only pray that this issue is resolved soon.. otherwise this is my last & only iPhone.. what a piece of junk! & a huge waste of money... all these stupid 'apps' & games.. seem to be the priority.. & its still incable of being transported in my pocket without playing music & taking pictures..***

ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated!

until i put it in my pocket and it presses the suare button on the front...

then it access voice command..

You have tp press and hold the Home button to get Siri.

To get the music controls while locked, you need to double tap the Home button

and i have to unlock it to turn it off..

No need to unlock it.

While locked, double tap Home to select themusic controls and tap pause || .

I agre with Meg. If this is happening, you should consider putting it elsewhere instead your pocket.

Or get a case with a front cover to prevent accidentally pushing Home.

I appreciate the replies.. thanks!

i guess i can tape something over the button, and just pull it off & on when i use it.. not a fan of the belt case.. oh well.. i was sort of hoping in this modern world of apps than can do just about anything.. that one would enable the lock button to simply lock my phone.. to any voice commands, or radio..

maybe on the i8 or 9 they will install a lock.. days i miss the flip phone.. lol
