Complaint against Apple Authorized Service Provider

I purchase my Apple MacBook Pro from Qatar (Middle-east).

My Serial No. is W80****YATQ.

case no : 278431642 ( got from toll free no)

Have extended my warranty, so my machine is still eligible for repair.

Within a year of my purchase, i had a display problem with my MacBook Pro. Some vertical lines was appearing on the screen. My native place is Ernakulam ,Kerala, India. So i took it to the nearest AASP. The service centre was "REDINGTON INDIA LTD". They took my Mac and told me that they will take maximum 3 days for repair.. So i got it after 3-4 days... The display was properly fixed and was surprised by the speed of the repair.. 🙂 🙂 🙂

But from that repair ownwards my wifi wasn't connecting. It was showing "No Airport Card Installed". I couldnt take it to the AASP very soon due to the public holidays.. I took it them the very next working day. They had my Mac for 4-5 days 😟 and gave it back to me saying its a software (O/S) problem and they dont fix O/S issues. I couldnt try with another AASP as i had to leave for Hyderabad (i am a frequent traveller). Since i couldnt use my WiFi i was using third party hardware for connecting to Internet (really annoyin.. 😟 😟 😟).

I happen to find an AASP in Hyderabad, India.. I took my mac to them. They opened it and told me that my Airport Card itself was not present there.. 😢 and showed it to me. Immediately i called the "REDINGTON INDIA LTD" and inquired about this issue..All i got was that they will call me after discussing with their seniors.. ( i never got a call 😠).. The hyderabad people have no problem replacing my Airport card. But since the card itself is not there, a new Airport card will cost me about 6,000 Rs. 😠

I rang up the Apple toll free no and talked them about my issue. I was connected yesterday to some customer relationship executive. She told me that she couldnt do anything and all that she said was "sorry". Well here sorry wont fix my problem.😢 She was talking as if it was my problem the wifi card was misplaced. How do i connect to the internet without that and so and so.. She was saying that i should probably take it back to the AASP where my display got serviced. Which i cant do because i have work in Hyderabad and wont make it back there very soon. More over i dont trust them now. What if my another internal got misplaced..?? No way iam going to take it back there..

I am really really disappointed about the AASP. 😟

I dont want to spent (6000 Rs) as its not my problem.. i need my wifi back.... 😟

I sympathize with you but I really don't see why you would expect Apple to take responsibility for another company's issues. Theft is a crime and something that you will have to settle with the original AASP. If they had lost your entire MBP, would you expect Apple to replace it? Certainly not. You need to return the machine to the original AASP and demand that they repair it.

Have you actually spoken to the company that did the repair and make your grievance known to them? Since the airport card is in such close proximity to the screen it could easily have been a simple error. Although they misdiagnosed it as a software problem on the second occasion you took it to them, when it was determined by the other company that the airport card was actually missing you should have returned to the first company to let them know. You should at least give them the opportunity to rectify the problem.
