Wireless problems with Mac Books and 802.1x

I work in a technical role at a large University in Canada. We have lot constant problems deplying wireless 802.1x authentication in terms of MacBook laptops. This seems to be a problem with multiple vendors or wireless access points. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is Apple aware of the problem? Has anyone found any solutions or work arounds?
