Hi,

the trackpad and button do not respond.

Any suggestions?

I reset the PMU, it did not work.
The trackpad still does not respond.

Remove the battery and inspect it for swelling, leakage, or any other deformation. The battery lives under the trackpad assembly and, if it swells, the upward pressure can take down the trackpad.
