I own a iMac 27-inch, Late 2009. I'm looking to upgrade my memory with 4- 4 GB RAM SO-DIMMs of 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM in each slot.

I was looking on Apple's site to purchase the memory and noticed there was a HUGE price difference in Apple's Rams vs. other sites.

Is there a reason for this? Does anyone recommened any certain brand of memory to get or are they all pretty much the same? Thanks in Advance

Apple "supplied RAM" has always been unreasonable expensive.  Any reputable RAM company such as Cruical will work fine.

there is no such thing as "Apple" ram.  They do not manfacture ram.  As an example, I upgraded the ram in my 2011 MacBook Pro and the factory ram that was installed was Samsung.  When shopping for ram, look for a  lifetime warranty.
