Jan 17, 2012 7:36 PM in response to b noirby PureBS90,Yes I currently am. I have not been able to update my iTunes for about 6 months now. And my iTunes won't even recognize my 4th gen iTouch when I plug it into my version of iTunes I am stuck with now. So yeah, that's quite a problem for me.

Jan 17, 2012 8:04 PM in response to PureBS90by b noir,Okay ... in your original post you linked to a description of using the Windows Installer CleanUp utility to remove iTunes installation configuration information. Did something not go right with that? If so, can you describe what the trouble was?

Jan 17, 2012 8:19 PM in response to b noirby PureBS90,I was unable to remove the iTunes installation configuration via the instructions in the original post. I don't know if the webpage is no longer active for the download or what.

Jan 17, 2012 9:32 PM in response to PureBS90by b noir,Okay. Let's try newer versions of the instructions, then.
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the
thingy on the Major Geeks page):http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Jan 26, 2012 12:34 PM in response to b noirby PureBS90,Since I followed your instructions and downloaded the program to delete my old iTunes from MajorGeek, and I installed the newest version of iTunes, would this affect why my computer and iTunes doesn't recognize my iTouch?
-
Jan 26, 2012 12:48 PM in response to PureBS90by b noir,Not in my experience of troubleshooting 0xE8000065s.
Still, there's no harm in being cautious of the advice you're getting from me. (You don't know me from a bar of soap, after all.) If anyone else would care to give a second opinion, I'd be obliged.
