Address book not syncing to iCloud

I recently upgraded to Lion 10.7.2, but my contacts aren't syncing from iCloud into the address book. I've gone to system preferences, enabled iCloud and selected contacts. It doesn't take, and so when I go back to the preference window, it's back to being unchecked. In AB, there are no groups visible and I can't add an iCloud account there, either. The contacts are present in iCloud on the web interface. Calendars also seem to be working fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Why are you contnually posting and reposting this, the problem has nothing to do with 'multiple' devices, it has everything to do with displaying more than one account in Address Book and/or iCal.

FYI, iCloud DOES NOT SYNC, you subscribe to it and that makes it very different from sync systems (including Mobile Me)

I just moved, yesterday, from MobileMe to iCloud. I have an iMac, a MacBook Air, an iPhone 4, and the original iPad.

Would you be kind enough to elaborate on your statement that I have quoted, above? I fear I don't understand the difference between sycning to MobileMe and subscribing to iCloud.

I am about to make my first change to my Address book and am unsure where to make it: on iCloud, my iMac, my MacBook, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Bob

Thanks for the reply.

An aside: I haven't been to Apple Discussions in awhile. There used to be a "solved" button which awarded points to the solvers, like you. I don't see the Solved button. Does Like do the same thing/replace it?

In your response you noted: (ie, in address book ensure that you are not using 'On My Mac' account)

I remember the "On My Mac" when I was using MobileMe. I just checked Contacts on my iPhone and do not see On My Mac any longer. I only see All Contacts or Groups. Ditto for Contacts on iCloud and for Address Book on my iMac.

Am I missing something??

Thanks again,

Bob

The 'Solved' button has been replaced by the 'Correct Answer' button (same difference) but, as before, it is only visible to the person who started the thread.

Thanks, Roger, appreciate it.

Hey, will you field another question?

When I opened my MobileMe account, i began it with a new email address.

I just realized email notifications from Discussions are going to a very old .mac address which no longer functions. I tried sending an email to that old address from my gmail account and it was rejected:

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

I looked in the preferences on Discussions and cannot see any way to change the email address to which notifications of responses to my posts are sent.

For the record, I log onto Discussios using the same user name and password for iTunes, iCloud, etc.

Is it possible to change the address from .mac to .me.com on the Discussions in the Apple Support Community?

Many thanks,

Bob
