Q: Help!  I opened my Notes app today & watched the recent ones disappear!

Are you syncing your notes through iCloud?

iCloud syncing of notes happens wirelessly, without the need to sync or backup. Have you logged into iCloud.com to see if your missing Notes are still there? They'd be in the Mail webapp, in the Notes folder. Note that they will look like email messages, not like Notes on the iPad.

Have you set up an iCloud account already? If so, go to icloud.com on your computer and log in with the Apple ID and password you set up. If you don't have an iCloud account yet, then go to Settings>iCloud on your iPad and set it up.

You have to use a computer to log into your iCloud account. It will not work on a mobile device. Go to iCloud.com and enter your username and password.

There is a link at the end of the article to contact iCloud Support. Use that link and get in touch with support and see if they can get you through this.

Months of critically important notes just vanished. This is disgusting. Apple needs to get a cure for this IMMEDIATELY. I no longer trust my notes.

a) I would NEVER use iCloud: never activated - never will be.

b) I don't own a Mac computer - so no connection there.

c) I never have and never will connect my iPad3 to any computer to back it up.

This is pathetic. I will be acquiring a new note app and forgetting the default app. This is BS in the first degree.

Let me add a comment here for the sake of everryone who takes important notes. Screen shot them and then save them in another program that has a passcode such as GoodReader. There - no one can get to them. Granted you can't add to the note when in the Jpeg form but at least you won't lose them. The internet is filled with the Apple losing note. Hey Apple: You need to get your stuff together like yesterday!
