rubber foot pad fell off

Does anyone know or has experiened the loss, replacement, or purchasing of new circular rubber foot pads from the bottom of their macbook pro. I was typing one day and realized I wobbled on my desk, and long and behold, when I checked I lacked 1 Rubber foot pad, which i've looked for everywhere.

Can anyone tell me their experiance of buying new ones, or whatever they did. Please and Thank You 🙂

Every decent hardware store carries a wide variety of self-adhesive rubber, plastic, cork and felt furniture feet in various sizes for less than $1 apiece, usually in sets of four or eight. Pick a set and replace all four of your MBP's original feet for less than a tenth of what a new bottom pan will cost.

This is not covered under warranty.

It seems like this IS covered under warranty, in fact it seems that Apple have started a replacement program for those who've had this problem: http://www.apple.com/support/macbook-bottomcase/

Unless I'm missing something this will almost certainly be covered - even if it falls outside of scope of the replacement program, if the laptop is showing the same fault, then you can make a good argument that it should be fixed.

EDIT: OK, seems that is only for the plastic MacBooks and not the aluminium ones. Still seems like an argument for a manufacturing issue could be made pretty coherently given the issues in the past.

WONDERFULL!!

And if when the bottom plates were stamped out in the manufacturing process with dimples in the aluminum where the feet are, there would be no need for the rubber feet. As much as I appreciate the engineering thought and execution in the MBPs, this has been an irritating flaw in the MBP design going back to the original ones (with the little plastic feet). Clearly not a solution but at least a bandaid.

Ciao.
