Hi iMarc!

Is that the only app or utility, that won't launch?

The first thing to try is, navigate to:

HD > Users > Your Home > Library > Preferences: Trash com.apple.Terminal.plist this file.

Restart the iMac, and try again.

Good Luck!

Here are files i moved to trash earlier today when my terminal kept giving me a teeny tiny shell square that only showed the red button and I couldn't see anything else or open up the window any further (tiny grey square with red button, totally unusable and couldn't see it for a while because it was behind other windows)

NetworkInterfaces.plist
com.apple.Terminal.plist

after restart, my terminal was okay again.

hope this helps
