sorting bookmarks in Safari

Alternatively try the 'quick n' dirty way': 😉

Drag the folder with the bookmarks to your Desktop and the Finder window will automatically alphabetize the bookmarks. Then drag it back into the Safari window.

The answer is no: 1) they probably don't know; 2) they don't care as they're rich ...

I tried this drag and drop tip and like it.

It only works with acsending alpha order BTW. So you won't get to use it for reverse sorting, by date, size, etc.

I have picked this up rather late in the day so sorry for that.

Could I have a little help please.

I have tried this, finding bookmarks in Finder and dragging to the Desk Top. That was fine but it will not allow me to drag the folder back, either to Finder or to put it on to the book marks in Safari. It just keeps returning to the Desk Top.

The only way I can get it off the Desk Top is if I put it in the Trash. If I empty that I will have lost it.

I am running OS X Yosemite. 10.10.3. Is it perhaps different with this operating system.

Yes, Yosemite is very different to Leopard. May I suggest that yu start your own thread in the Yosemite forum? 🙂

4 years later ... Apple still hasn't fixed it. It must be more complex that detecting and stopping video, blocking adds, and other recently added features. Otherwise, they would have done it!
