Photo transfer from PC to iPad 2

I know how to sync photos to my iPad from my normally used PC.

I wish to transfer photos from another PC without replacing what I already have stored on the iPad.

Can this be done with iTunes and if so, how? If not, can it be achieved with another app?

If you connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of you computer's iTunes then you can use the Photos tab on the right-hand side to sync photos. If you've already synced photos to the iPad and you want to keep them on there then you need to inc;ude them in the sync as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - not including them in a subsequent sync is how you delete them from the iPad.

If the current and new photos are in folders such that they can't be synced together (and you don't want to move them on your computer), then there are third-party apps such as Simple Transfer which can copy them to/from your computer and iPad via your wifi network, but they will only go into the Saved Photos album in the Photos

app. If you have iOS 5 installed on your iPad you can then create new albums directly on the iPad and copy the photos on the iPad into those new albums (but you won't be able to then delete them from the Saved Photos album without also deleting them from the new albums).

Open iTunes.

Select the iPad on the left.

Click the Photos tab on top.

In here, if you were already syncing to a folder, just throw the new images into that folder on your computer so iTunes will pick them up. I know from experience that the folder sync works one folder deep, so you can have a level of subfolders that turn into separate albums on the iPad.

If you were syncing to Photoshop Elements/Album, I don't see any way to add them except to add them to that other program.

You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.

Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov).

Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import.

There are several ways that you can transfer photographs from your PC to your iPad.

(1) You can synchronise your iPad and PC using the iTunes software on your PC and you can select which photos/albums/folders that you want to copy.

(2) If you only have a few photos to transfer, then you can email them from your PC to your iPad

(3) You can use a third-party app, like GoodReader (see it in the iPad App Store) and that will allow you to copy photos from your PC to your iPad either using WiFi or the USB connection cable that came with your iPad

(4) You can use a 'cloud storage' server, such as Apple's MobileMe iDisk or DropBox to transfer photos from your PC to the cloud storage and then you can download them from the cloud storage to your iPad. If you need to know more about cloud storage have a look at the Apple iPad website and look for MobileMe.

(5) You can use the optional camera connection kit - this will allow you to transfer photos either from an SD memory card directly to your iPad or you can plug the connection kit directly into your camera and upload photos that way.

The iPad is very nice device such as iPhone iPod and all iToys. But a lot of that is stupid and hard to use, it's to complicated. They should made it simple. To give you option as other smart phones: connect it as USB Mass storage. I don't want to sync anything with my PC I just want to use it as separate device and I want to put things on it simply! I made it once, the thing what you are asking for, but as I said it's stupid and don't know how did I do it because it is not simple as copy paste. Sorry! and yes one more thing, even if you manage to browse the iPad through some apps, it will be hard to find what you need, because everything you copy to your device, the name of the file is changed by default 😟
