Sound alert for incoming FaceTime session

Hi Tom, I've just posted a similar question before seeing this one. A ring tone would certainly be helpful so as I tend to miss the call unless alerted by email that there is going to be one. Will let you know if I receive any info. Regard Frankie

Hi Patty, I found that at the side of the iPad there is the small switch and mine was clicked down and showing RED I just moved it up and hey presto I had a ring tone. Hope it works for you. :-)

Should have said the switch is top right side directly above the volume. Ok.

Same problem: I have missed calls on Facetime. I just get a silent alert when I turn my iPad3 on.

Muting is not the problem.

There is no option for notfication sounds with Facetime in iPad settings. (There is with Skype, and alerts sound when iPad is off: definitely works well).

Has anyone ever had an alert sound with FaceTime? Under what circs?

I have an IPod Touch 4th Generation. You can set a ringtone by doing the following. Go to Settings, then Notifications, and then Facetime. There you should see different options for the notification and alerts, including setting a ringtone. I have not tried this on my IPod Touch to see if it works, but hope it helps you.

Very basic advice, but I hadn't set an alert ringtone which was why I wasn't getting a sound alert for FaceTime. ......
