I've recently installed Halo on a machine with Tiger and found that I either had to install and play the game as an administrator if installing it to the global "Applications" directory, or install it in a folder under the "home" directory if not an administrator.

Hope this helps.

I've encountered the very same problem.

Tried everything mentioned, tried holding "P" and clicking on the Halo icon to bypas the processor thingy. Nothing works.

When I click on the Halo icon, installed into my home on an administrator account it opens the settings window. As I have for the past few months, with the same settings and hardware, I click on "OK." The Halo title image loads, flickers, and after about 2 seconds the program crashes. I've sent the report to Apple, and searched the web - has no one found out how to get Halo working again?

super,

Have you tried running the app under a different user name. If so, what happens? If it runs under the different user, we can narrow it down to not being the apps fault, but rather something in your current user. This happened to me once in a graphics app. It took over 5 minutes to launch under one user and seconds in the other. Trashing the prefs did not help nor did replacing from the good user. I had to dig deeper to find the root cause.
