When I sync my music gets deleted

I recently synced my ipodtouch and when I did that, it deleted all of my music off of my ipodtouch, although on itunes, all my music is still there. I downloaded the newest version of itunes, etc and still nothing happened. Anyone know what's wrong?

iPod touch, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

I'm using an iPhone 4.0 and have had the exact same problem today. Did a sync and suddenly there is no music on my iPhone - over 11GB of music wiped. It shows up as still being there when it's connected to my iTunes but you can't play them (get the exclamation mark).

Have been searching for fixes all evening, including checking and unchecking things to sync, but no joy. Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Sooo...what I sorta figured out was that you when you plug your device and itunes loads, you need to click on the itunes store. I guess this might be happening because of the icloud feature. So, once you are in the itunes store over to the right there is a spot that says Purchased *New*. Click on that and then it will show all your music, apps, etc. You then need to click download all and it should download all the music. What was annoying for me, was some of the songs didn't download on my computer. So I had to go into itunes on my device and one-by-one download the songs that didn't download from my computer. Not sure if this helps or not.

Ive had this exact same problem. I didn't know what to do. So I did this. What you can do is 1. Plug your iPod Touch into your computer 2. stop the sync 3. Under "Devices" is should have the name of your iPod Touch: click on it. 3. At the top it will say "music" click on it 4. When you click on it there should be a check mark that says "Sync Music" make sure that box is checked. 5. Under that it should say entire music library. MAKE SURE THAT BOX IT ESPECIALLY CHECKED IN 6. if you have music videos and voice memos, I recommened checking those boxes in too. 7. IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER THERE IS A BUTTON THAT SAYS "SYNC". CLICK THAT. Its will begin to sync all of your music back onto your ipod touch. If you want to make sure (like I did) bring up your music on your ipod touch. You will see all of your songs restored, IF you followed my instructions to the "T". Hope this helps!

Simplest solution EVER! Been trying all suggestions mentioned above....thanks everyone! But alas none of them worked.

So, if you follow what Jayana said but do what I added in step 1

Plug your iPod Touch into your computer

1 go to the Play list you want on your ipod (or in my case, iphone) and make sure ALL THE BOXES next to the songs you want have a CHECK MARK! Yup, thats it.

2. stop the sync

3. Under "Devices" is should have the name of your iPod Touch: click on it.

4. At the top it will say "music" click on it

5. When you click on it there should be a check mark that says "Sync Music" make sure that box is checked.

6 Under that it should say entire music library. MAKE SURE THAT BOX IT ESPECIALLY CHECKED IN

7if you have music videos and voice memos, I recommened checking those boxes in too.

8 IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER THERE IS A BUTTON THAT SAYS "SYNC". CLICK THAT. Its will begin to sync all of your music back onto your ipod touch.

Took me an hour to figure out that all I had to do was click on the songs I want and make sure they have a check mark..... lol

Hope this helps!!
