30 GB 5th gen. iPod battery, 30 GB 5th gen. iPod battery

I know that an iPod battery life depends on a number of things. I was just wondering how long the average battery lasts before it doesn't hold it's charge anymore. I have a 5th gen. 30 GB iPod and I've had it for over five years now and it still holds it's charge for about 7-8 hours. I just wanted to know from anyone else who has the same iPod how long on average the battery lasts before it has to be replaced.

When new, the 30GB iPod Classic video specs, state 14 hours of music and 2 hours of Video. So you are half way through, and it will go downhill very fast, not linearly.

The battery life can be charge full, on max 400 recharge cycles, so assuming you charge once a week a week, it will last about 6-7 years, but by the 5th year, maybe, the battery will last only 1 hour or less, so those, who plug into their docking station or Car audio docking station, every day, will shorten the battery life to less than 2 years.

Have a nice day!
