Canon PowerShot S2 IS, panoramas, and iPhoto
In December, I bought a Canon PowerShot S2 IS camera. The Canon came bundled with its own proprietery software which included Photostitch.
I typically use Apple's iPhoto to import, store and catalog digital photos for my S2 IS and Olympus C-3020Z. In the past, I tried manually taking overlapping pictures using the Olympus and then importing them into iPhoto, exporting them back out again, and using Photoshop to assemble panoramas. Naturally, this met with limited success.
Today, I decided to try something different. I tried using Canon's on-board pano mode to take some overlapping pictures of a scenic vista. I have not imported them yet; they are still in the camera. One thing I like about using iPhoto is that the time and date are stored with the picture, along with a place to store comments on each photo. It occured to me that if I assemble the Canon's panoramic pictures using the bundled Photostitch software, I may loose the time and date. Is there any way around this?
