Finder>Preferences>Advanced>Empty Trash Securely.
Finder>Preferences>Advanced>Empty Trash Securely.
I deleted them before by normally emptying trash, is there any way I can access them to 'secure' delete them?
They can be recovered if you have not executed a secure delete. You need the correct software and expertise to retrieve them. Even if you retrieve the deleted data, it may not be organized in the same way that you originally had it. Think carefully when you empty trash.
Ciao.
As you use your computer, this data will be overwritten. If you want to do that now, securely, follow the directions here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3680
Otherwise you look for third-party recovery software.
well what programs could i use to do so? so theres no possible way of retrieving the data back in its original form?
As wjosten indicates, DO NOT USE THAT DISK, the more you do the greater the possibility that your data will be overwritten and permanently gone. This is just one option you may try:
This is not a recommendation. I have never faced this situation. Enter into google 'data recovery' and you will get other options as well. It is not likely that any of them will be free.
Good luck.
Ciao.
Ah...the OP actually doesn't want to recover the files, he/she wants them securely erased.
You are correct. I was just giving an option where he/she could delete the file securely for practice (stupid humor). OK, give me two blackmarks and that should close out this matter.
Regards
Ciao.
