Q: iTunes 64-bit changing colour scheme?

Upon loading iTunes changes windows colour scheme from areo to basic.

Is the 64-bit system with 64-bit iTunes version 10.5.2.11, anyone know anything about this?

That one is often a compatibility mode problem. Try the following document, only be sure that none of the boxes in the compatibility mode tab are checked (not just the compatibility mode box itself):
