Hi,

Surprisingly, the "Glossary" framework actually could be used as a Bibliograpy: (1) in the text, insert the desired bibliography marker (such as "[12]," "(Doe, 03)" or so. (2) declare it a Glossary term, and enter the full bibliographical information in the "definition." When the iPad Reader taps the bibliography marker, a balloon pops up with the bibliographic information; she can also go to the listing via the "Glossary Index" button in the pop-up balloon... and when finished, can tap "Done" in the upper right corner and be back from whence she started prusuing the bibliography.

Now if only I knew how to change the hard-wired "Glossary" into "Bibliography"... and did not need a glossary too.

Alternatively, you can add a trailing chapter "Bibilography" and list the references there. Make each a hyperlink bookmark, to which you can hyperlink from elsewhere in the text. The (really bad!!) down-side of this is that the iPad Reader has no way to jump back to whence she tapped the hyperlink that took her to the bibliography listing.

Neither of these is a true solution, but please, harangue Apple <http://www.apple.com/feedback/ibooks-author.html> to include a decent Bibliography framework, even if just cloning and renaming the Glossary framework.
