when I plug my IPAD into my MACBOOK My MACBOOK doesn't recognize the IPAD, anyone have an idea why?

Try reinstalling the AMDS > iTunes: How to remove and reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service on Mac OS X

If that doesn't help, try here > iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
