iCloud calendar only going one way

I just upgraded my MacBook to Lion to take advantage of iCloud. I have set up the phone and iCal and when I enter an event in iCal, it makes it to the cloud and then on to the iPhone 4s just fine. However, when I enter an event in the iPhone, it makes it to the cloud calendar but NOT to my iCal on the MacBook. Also, I have my iCal synched with my Outlook calendar. When I enter an event in the Outlook calendar, it makes it to the iCal just fine, but not to the cloud or onto the phone. I know there are two issues here, can anyone help with either? Thanks.
