is my case blocking the 4S antenna ?

I've been getting the "No service" message all week in places where the reception is good ( not great, but good ) .

I even asked collegues using the same carrier, to check if they have reception on the spot, and all of them did , while my 4S is giving me the embarrasing " No service " message !

Could it be the iphone case i am using ? The case i have blocks all sides of the phones, except the area where the volume and mute botton ( that area is open).

Any help would be appreciated !

Why not take it out of the case and see if the reception improves when you are in one of these places? If it does, there's your answer.

It's not the case... plastic/silicone cases will not measureably affect antenna reception.

Try removing, cleaning and reinserting your SIM. Or get a new SIM.

Just did that, service came back with 4 bars for 1 minute....then "no service" again .

Get a new SIM from your carrier. Or you can try a Restore... first with your backup and then, if still a problem, without your backup.

I just contacted my carrier provider, turned out it's a problem with their coverage and they have been working on it for a week now .

They told me that the coverage issues may affect some numbers, but not all . That explains it all .
