iPad only connects to Edge.

I have an original iPad 3G+Wi-Fi through AT&T. My iPad will not connect to the 3G network at all. It will only connect to the EDGE network. I have tried resetting my network settings, all settings and a complete restore. None of these things worked. Any ideas as to what I can do to get back my 3G connection? Cellular data is practically useless at EDGE speeds for me!

Post Probably its the APN settings for AT&T

Would recommend Calling AT&T or going to the Store checking the settings.
If that does not help, they can change the Micro SIM for Free

Worst Case Scenario even after changing the SIM if it does not help, most probably its 3G chip problem on Ipad.

Go to Apple store to get Hardware Dignostics, its free to get the Diagnostics.

Dan - wanted to follow up and thank you again for the suggestions you gave me.

AT&T was a bust. They tried a few settings things and switched out the sim card but it would still only connect to EDGE.

Apple Store! They did a full restore and it instantly pulled a 3G signal after that. The only odd thing is that I did a full restore at home and it didn't sofve my problem. The only thing I can think of is that I must have restored using my last i-Cloud backup rather than just doing a new restore to factory settings. Who knows...

Anyway, it's fixed now and working great. Thanks again for the help! 🙂
