why QTX wont open .mov with mpg2 codex
Just hear Audio no video on .MOV files with a MPEG2 codex... This codex is what FCP uses when exporting files...?

Under SL, you need to install the QuickTime MPEG2 Playback Component, which is not free

Btw, codex is "an ancient manuscript text in book form". You mean codec, ie, "any technology for compressing and decompressing data" (from coder/decoder).
