Nobody who knows could tell you. You can download and access iTunes U audio and video content with iTunes now so what is really missing is a way to access iTunes ebooks on a computer effectively. An iBooks app for computers please. iOS doesn't need the exclusivity of iBooks to prosper.

Yes - if I'm going to provide content to my classes over ITU, then, by law, logic, and fairness, it must be accessible to all the class. Otherwise, I can't put things on ITU that are not available to the hoopdie WinDOH!s systems many of our poor students have.
Absolutely
Another infuriating Apple dogma, especially for anybody using a 'magic trackpad': you can do pretty much everything you can do on an iPad, only faster and with a higher definition screen!
Isn't it totally crazy that I haven't purchased a single iBook because Kindle provides me a good reading platform on my MacBook Air but Apple doesn't ???!!!
I agree with the why isn't there an iTunes U App for Mac. Right now i'm running iTunes U on my iPhone and/or iPad, while using my MacBook Pro to actually get some work done.
Yes, my University just dropped Blackboard, and now must use ITU... I need a computer app for this!
The iTunes U student experience is only available for iOS.
The teacher experience is available on iOS and the web:

If you are a student, I suggest you tell Apple about your need:
