How do I turn on SMS messaging for Iphone 3. My friend has a iPhone 3 and he has on the MSM messaging but I don't see the SMS messaging. And when he send me a text it comes up as a Phone text and not a SMS text. How do you turn it on, on the iPhone 3.

If you have a text plan through your provider, SMS is avaialble, i.e. you don't have to turn it on. Only MMS has an On/Off switch.
What do you consider a "Phone text" (never herad of that). As far as the iPhone is concerned, SMS = text without images and is handled via the Messages app.
So I guess I am confused. When i send text messages to my friends that have an iPhone 4, I get a blue message. When i sent it to my other friend that has the iPhone 3 his text messages come up green, like text messages from people not with iPhones. So why is this?
Because the iPhone 3 does not have iOS5 which is necessary for iMessage. You can only iMessage with iOS5 devices. The iPhone 3 does not support iOS 5, the latest firmware for the iPhone 3 is 4.2.1. You will NOT be able to iMessage with the person that owns the iPhone 3.
