I've followed the directions and tried to import the small snippet of video into Quicktime and then export it, but that doesn't work. All I want to do is take video with my iPhone and then import that into my new iBooks book. How can I do that?
could you tell us which directions you've followed to get your iPhone 4S video to iBooks Author?
I've synced my 3GS to iPhoto'11 with some video, and iMovie is able to load them all right. If I try to get them to show up on iBooks Author, however, they start talkin about having to be re-saved (but without any advice as to which settings are "wrong").
I just followed the standard instructions under the Help menu item. There are also other articles about importing videos but nothing specifically states how to import an iPhone 4s video, into Aperture and then out to iBooks Author. I could skip the import into Aperture but I don't think that's possible.
Have u tried share from iMovie so that it's in the media browser. Might help
I convert movies to ATV (Apple TV Format) before import (I use QT 7 Pro)
I think there's something wrong... I just tried dragging a .m4v file into the widget and it gave me an error - "the media file wasn't added. one or more settings are unsupported." This is a m4v file which should definitely work. Any ideas or anyone else having the same problem?
I tried one and it just worked. Check the properties in Quicktime. But my videos all start out from FCPX.
ustein2, you speak of properties. Does anyone have a screenshot of which properties are correct so that a video, be it .mov or .m4v, can be imported into iBooks Author?

These are settings from a working sample. JUst the m4v suffix may not mean much. At 30p the size is lower than 702p as you can see.
Got it working.. yes, the export needs to be in iphone quality or smaller. So that makes a difference, not it just being m4v. Thanks everyone.
Is the conversion properly done ? I've had some issue too when converting for IBA the first time…
