iPod nano power when earplugs are pulled

Just wondering if anyone also experience power being drawn when the unit is playing and the headphones pulled.

I though it was supposed to go to off, but it goes to hibernation, but draws a lot more power than if it was off? Happened twice, and now I power off before pulling the ear plugs.

Version 1.2 of the firmware

I don't think this is normal

Thanx
