iphone wont sync ical

I've updated iCalendar entries on the iPad and synced with the iMac successfully. However my iPhone 3gS refuses to update entries, despite synching via iTunes and then iCloud. I'm iFrustrated.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.4), 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
